OneSixty Characters – An exhibition exploring children’s nursery rhymes/songs, games and storytelling from around the globe

OneSixty Characters began by sending out a call worldwide via lists, forums (this was pre-Facebook), etc... requesting people to text message, via their mobile phones, a line or a fragment from a nursery rhyme or childhood song that was associated with a game. Then once that was done, a form was filled in on this site and the two separate contributions were put together.

The results were collated and exhibited as part of an installation at Electrofringe Festival. For the installation twenty texts were shortlisted and presented in vintage hand-held slide viewers. See images of installation here.

OneSixty Characters submissions will be online here in the future. If you would like to contribute a nusery rhyme, I am still collecting.
